Although no exact location has been given, Pence plans to return to one’s country of origin from Indiana this summer, according to IndyStar. He made a quick trip to speak with Hoosiers in Columbus, Indiana on Jan.20.
“I have already promised Karen that I will return to Indiana this summer,” Pence said. “There is no place like home.”

What is Pence doing now?
Once his vice-presidential transition is complete, Pence will be a “distinguished guest visitor” to the Heritage Foundation, according to USA Today.
The plan is for Pence to advise political experts, give political speeches and write a monthly column for the Conservative think tank.
Pence credits the Heritage Foundation with shaping his conservative philosophy, as the foundation was used to shape the Indiana Policy Review. Pence was president of the Indiana Foundation and a radio show host before joining Congress in 2000.

Pence was quite emotional during his 15-minute speech in Columbus on January 20.
According to IndyStar, Pence’s voice was “crisp” and he “held back tears” on the catwalk.
He congratulated President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris before thanking former President Donald Trump for the opportunity to “serve the nation”.
“While we don’t know what the future holds,” Pence said, “we do know who holds the future. I am absolutely convinced that the best days, for this one nation, under God, indivisible, with freedom and justice for all are yet to come.

Trump spoke for only about 10 minutes during his last speech as president, according to USA Today. His comments on Pence were very brief.
